We need your help! FLY depends on its volunteers to fill a variety of roles from law class facilitator to mentor to board member. Our current volunteers‚ representing a variety of cultures/ethnicities and speaking multiple languages -- provide over 8,000 hours of service for youth each year. Often volunteers continue to work with the youth and their families after their volunteer commitment to FLY ends.

Ninety-nine percent of youth report that these volunteers are good role models who provided greatly needed support:

  • "Before FLY, my life was in a downward spiral, and I thought no one cared. Now I know there are people who care and that I can accomplish great things. Thank you."
  • "The volunteers helped me in understanding laws, respect, honor, and love. They showed me that I have the power to do good."
  • "The volunteers are all very nice, very intelligent, and have a lot going for them. I appreciate their teaching our class. I feel very honored."
